STARWOOD Bassist Checks In From Japan
October 30, 2005Los Angeles-based rock outfit STARWOOD, featuring members of the Eighties heavy metal band LIZZY BORDEN, have scheduled several shows in Japan, including a November 1 party in Tokyo for the hair product Manic Panic. The group's bassist, Marten Andersson, has posted the following update on his official web site:
"Greetings from Japan!! We are in Tokyo and we couldn't be more excited. After a 12-hour flight and 2 1/2 hours in Tokyo rush traffic (and I thought L.A. traffic was bad!!) we have finally settled in at the hotel. Our record label took us out for some unbelievable sushi, sake and Japanese beer at a true authentic Japanese eatery where you had to take off your shoes and sit on the floor. What an awesome first day!! We are all huge fans of the movie 'Lost in Translation' and we saw a bunch of the locations they used in the movie, such a blast!! Our first show is in about 11 hours and I hear it's sold out, I can't wait. More to come!!"
STARWOOD recently spent time in pre-production for the follow-up to their debut album, "If It Ain't Broke, Break It!", which was released in July 2004 through Metal Blade Records. The band will start recording when they return from Japan with a release tentatively planned for sometime in early 2006.
